To ensure the greatest possible protection of patient data from the outset, a corresponding "secure supply chain" exists for the telematics infrastructure. In simplified terms, this consists of three sections: CHERRY, as a manufacturer of products for the telematics infrastructure, has increased security requirements for its production environment and must collect and document all security-relevant data.

Intermediaries must ensure that devices intended for telematics infrastructure (TI) are securely protected through structural and organizational measures, even during transport. This includes specially trained personnel as well as an enhanced process for receiving and dispatching goods. The transport provider also requires specially trained personnel and certifications.

End users (doctors, hospitals, etc.) must, in turn, have the opportunity to verify the integrity and authenticity of the devices and cards. This is achieved through security features on the device or card itself, at various stages in the supply chain, or through specific security features of the manufacturer.

Take-back concept

According to EU Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and its revised version, EU Directive 2012/19/EU, there is an obligation to collect, properly treat, dispose of, and finance the collection and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Under the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), every manufacturer is obligated to provide a reasonable return option for waste electrical and electronic equipment from users other than private households.

CHERRY Digital Health GmbH takes responsibility for its products and ensures they undergo a high-quality recycling process after use. For devices used commercially or in public institutions – so-called B2B devices – we have provided convenient return and disposal solutions. CHERRY Digital Health GmbH, together with its partners, organizes the recycling and reuse of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). CHERRY Digital Health GmbH covers the costs of processing, recycling, and reuse of its products. In return, CHERRY Digital Health GmbH asks its customers to cover the costs of transporting the devices to CHERRY Digital Health GmbH.

Option to return and dispose of old devices

Do you wish to dispose of an electrical appliance purchased from CHERRY Digital Health GmbH correctly? Please contact the CHERRY Service Center.

We will arrange for a parcel service to collect your old electrical appliance. Please print the shipping label and affix it clearly to the package containing your old electrical appliance.

Meaning of the symbol for marking electrical appliances

The crossed-out waste bin symbol on electrical appliances indicates that waste electrical and electronic equipment must be collected separately and means that it must not be disposed of in household waste.

Personal responsibility with regard to the deletion of personal data

We expressly point out that, in accordance with Section 19a of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), you are required to delete any personal data on the devices to be disposed of.

Verification of authenticity and integrity
